The helical cutterhead features 125 four-sided indexable carbide inserts, producing a superior surface finish with reduced tear-out and significantly quieter operation than straight knives. Inserts require no height adjustment and can be rotated to extend cutting life, minimizing downtime in production environments. A massive ribbed cast iron table, precision ground and raised smoothly by handwheel, provides exceptional stability. Segmented infeed rollers and a sectional chip breaker allow multiple boards of varying thickness to be planed simultaneously, while adjustable bed rollers support both rough stock removal and fine finishing. Roller-bearing-mounted infeed and outfeed rollers ensure smooth, long-lasting operation.
