The Powermatic 31A 6" × 48" Belt and 12" Disc Sander is designed for demanding production environments where power, precision, and durability matter. Its full cast iron construction provides the mass and stability needed for consistent, vibration-free sanding during continuous use. The articulating belt head allows vertical, horizontal, and angled operation, supporting a wide range of sanding applications. An indexing pin with stops at 0°, 45°, and 90° ensures quick setup, while the belt head lock enables precise positioning at any angle between stops. Both sanding surfaces feature precision-ground cast iron tables with miter gauge slots, allowing accurate beveled and mitered sanding. The solid cast iron platen and crowned aluminum drums provide reliable belt tracking and even abrasive support. Dual dust ports collect debris efficiently from both the belt and disc. Driven by a 2 HP motor prewired for 230V three-phase and convertible to 460V, this version is built for commercial and industrial shops requiring higher output and three-phase power.
